I even heard news of thunderstorms and flight delays. Better safe than... the alternative.

I had a boss who flew his own plane, trying to get back - from a funeral ironically - before a Monday and chose to take off despite weather. Result was the alternative. He was a great guy, but a little reckless. I miss him.

Thread title and opening post are lyrics to a blues song!
Sittin’ here on the tarmac
It’s five o’clock and my cruel phone keeps telling me
we’re leaving at three
Sittin here on the tarmac
It’s five o’clock my cruel phone keeps telling me
we’re leaving here at three
I know the most important part of flying
Is gettin to the ground in one piece

Uggh! The longest I sat had to sit in a non-flying airplane was close to six hours at Dulles in D.C. Horrible! Apparently, the weather was so bad they grounded all flights. We sat for two hours and then taxied back to the gate, where they unwillingly let people back in the airport for absolutely dire situations. After an hour and a half, we then went back out to wait in line for another two to two and a half hours and finally took off. Horrible!

Fingers crossed for my return flight. Doesn’t look like I’m going to have any problems getting out of San Antonio but there’s a 50% chance of thunderstorms when I’m scheduled to leave Orlando.
