I had a look through the online archive of the Hoboken Historical Museum to see if I could find anything related to Guild’s time in the area. I couldn’t find anything on there with a direct link, but I did turn up a document that I really liked, and thought I’d share it. This old factory regulations sign is from the R. Neumann building where Guild was based at Observer Highway and Newark St.

Interesting!
I bet they would change their tune a bit in the current work climate. More like 'please come to work". Lol. Mills could be a very humbling work experience. But you could work there for your whole life if you stuck it out. Whole generation s did. Loud, dusty, smell of ozone and oil soaked wood floors.

Neumann employees are expected to conduct themselves at all times in a gentlemanly manner...
I take it this was a "men's only" employer.

Many places today could benefit from enforcement of some of these rules. Sadly, todays employers almost allow wasting time.
