In case the image does not display, folks who use Facebook should login and look for the Art of Vivian Xiao. Everybody else should know that it is a fairly detailed drawing, done with Sharpies with a Lord of the Rings theme using a guitar as a canvas.

As long as he used a cheapie guitar, then cool! :D

If he used a good guitar, then for shame! :(

Very unique. If I had a guitar like that I wonder if I would feel constrained to the type of music I played on it.

You know I really like it!! Very detailed and well-done. I guess you wouldn't want it on a super-rare guitar but, most guitars today are mass-produced and something like this can really individualize it and make it special. I'm a fan......

I like it too Tom. And the artist, Vivian Xiao is no hack! Who knows, this type of thing could really catch on. What if you had a guitar embellished by someone like Walt Disney, Dr. Seuss, Maurice Sendak? Personally this is more appealing to me than patterns of turquoise and abalone. Something about the line work helps keep it toned down. I'd say it's more like a henna tattoo than a flaming hot-rod paint job. How much?

I think it's neat too. Lots of artistic things you can do with a guitar, and I just personally think that's rather cool.

I look at this photo the same way I look at tattoos. I'd rather they weren't there (either tattoos or the artwork on the guitar), but if they're going to be there, make sure they're well done, like the design on this guitar. Very cool.
