Hi, I have a 1997 S-100 and it came with just 2 central pickup screws. Where could I get that tiny bit of metal that will allow me to use the 3 screws? Thanks!

Sorry, we don't allow Canadians here... :p

Steve, you can fabricate your own out of a strip of nylon from a Dunlop pick if you want to get cheap and dirty. You just have to buy additional screws. A member here used to have a couple extra, but memory fails me. :?

Would love to see a picture. Always up for S-100s to admire.
Sorry can't help with the metal bit, but agree a machine shop should be able to make one up.

I thought this was an Australian site?

Thanks guys! I'm not a handy man at all, so this isn't something I could do by myself. My digital camera is not working properly at the moment, I'll try and get some pics up at a later date. I'm actually in the UK now, I was born in Canada!

Steve, do you have one of the LMBs (little metal bits?) from one of your pick-ups, or are they missing from both? I'm thinking that if you need to get one made, it will be much easier with a sample piece.
Also, have you tried asking Hans?

It doesn't take much to fabricate a strip from a Dunlop pick. I used a fine tipped permanent marker and the pickup ring as a template. Use a fine drill to make the three holes and use the pickup screws to tap the threads.

Not hard at all.

Thanks for all your help guys, but a good luthier is hard to find in Belfast! I'm after the metal type.

The question that begs to be asked is why the guitar came without the "metal bit" already soldered to the pick-up?

Does the mounting ring have the standard three screw holes and then another one added between the two to mount a different pick-up?

The guitar was second hand and the previous owner changed the pickups to a Duncan Full Shred in the bridge and a JB in the neck (I had to change them)! The mounting ring had an extra hole and the little metal bits that I'm after must have not been used. If anybody knows where to buy them or if you can make them, I will pay what it costs! Thanks!
