It's funny how some guitar makers can get soo much bass out of Mahogany while others don't.
Martin D-18's are known to be loud which is why they were the choice for Bluegrass lead playing for years. But they don't have a very strong bass end.

My wife plays a Taylor 410 that has Mahogany back and sides, with a pinless bridge.
It has plenty of bass end.

I hear a lot about the volume and bass that some D25 Guilds have.
I guess it all depends on how the guitar was built.

There are a couple of guys over on AGF who have found used D25s and are waiting to get their applications approved so they can post questions here. (For those of you not on AGF, when ever there are Guild questions posters LTG is always mentioned as the ultimate source of info.) Is it true that it takes three weeks to get approved here?

No, it only took about a week. I'm one of the AGF guys mentioned above. Thanks for all the good info, everyone and I'm looking forward to hanging out here and getting to know my D25M better.

HI Glenn, welcome Aboard! WE don't care much how well YOU know your D25m as long as WE get to know it pretty well...
First questions: Are you original owner, and what's the vintage, and got pix? You'll find out soon that the era of production for many models of Guilds becomes relevant to answering questions about them.... :)

Welcome aboard here Glenn. I just loved it when I found this place. It's nice to know that there's some out there that have the affliction even worse than me!

Great bunch of people here. Pull up a chair...

No, not the original owner, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's who I bought it from. It's a 1983 that was on consignment in my local shop and it came with the original hardcase. It has a few cosmetic blemishes but no tonal ones ;). It's going to replace my Epiphone Masterbilt AJ500-ME that never got any playing time over its smaller EF-500 cousin. I'll get pictures up when I have some more time.
