When my mother died, we had a small gathering at the cemetery, just my daughter, wife and me along with the funeral director. I sang "Wayfaring Stranger" accompanied with my F212 that she had bought for me in 1965. The only regret is that I failed to record it to send to our of state relatives who couldn't attend.
FWIW, she was 97, as was my father when he passed in 2015. I was still weak and recovering from my cancer treatment, so a friend played and we sang the Old Rugged Cross at his interment.

We did The Old Rugged Cross yesterday.

I love "Wayfaring Stranger," particularly EmmyLou's version. It works well with a Blues style mandolin in A."
