Sadly, we attended a memorial services for a friend who passed. recently. I played Ripple on my 412 and asked everyone to look up the lyrics on their phone so we could all sing it together. Response came back, ,"Oh we know the lyrics." And they did. Whole crowd, about 100 family, friends, colleagues all singing Ripple loud and clear and beautiful.

Sorry about your friend. I am playing and singing today at the funeral of an old friend, but we won't be doing Ripple, although we could. Great song!

Good story!
Played and sang "Across the Great Divide" at a memorial a few weeks ago. The only one who sang along was the sister.
She sounded good, though.

Always loved the song....but the ending of film Mask was the first time it really sunk in. It truly is a remarkable tune. You chose wisely. My condolences.

Thank you for your condolences. She was my wife's best friend and she had only been diagnosed with a stage 4 melanoma less than 2 weeks before passing. Tough one.
I played Ripple because she loved the song and it seemed appropo. At another friend's memorial a year os so back I did Rocky Mountain High because that was her favorite song.
I'm wondering what song I should pick for my friends to sing and a play at my memorial. I'm also wondering will I be going to theirs or they to mine. Sucks getting old. Though as they say - it beats the alternative.
