EWH posted this photo on "Let's Talk Bass".

Pilot Prototype.jpg

This looks just like a Bass that I ran across 30 years ago at a music store around the South Jersey/Philly area. I didn't have the cash in hand and they wouldn't take a credit card! (Didn't have an ATM card yet!) I was going to go back the next weekend but it was sold by then!

I thought it was cool that they took the X-79 Headstock matching the body shape idea to a Pilot Bass! Notice it has the B-300 series Bridge. While it brings up sad memories of what have could been, it is nice to know that I didn't imagine the whole thing!

Very cool! That one also has 20 frets only. Too bad EWH left LTG, he had always interesting bass pictures to show.

Oh yeah, I knew I had seen that before! So the Bridge carried through from the B-300 series to the SB series onto the Pilot Prototypes!

Any idea what the switch on the -202 does? Looks like the -300 / Prototype / badass doesn't have it.

I liked EWH - sent him some strings - he sent some glassware back as thank you - helped him to get one bass guitar.
