As noted in an earlier topic, I had an incoming '74 F48. Well, it hit the doorstep on Friday and I finally had a chance to get some quick pics this morning. Thought it was only fitting to pair it up with an F47 and, as you can see, the GF30 might well be a mixture of the two! The F48 has to me that nice "hog" sound, but only more so coming out of a jumbo body. As Hans mentioned, this is a good combination of woods and shape.

Cheers to all,

Dig the F48. Very nice! 8) 8)
Thanks, I'm happy to have found it. Needs some fret work and set up, but in great shape for a 74.

I think that's an understatement, TJ. That F-48 looks downright minty. Congrats! I'd love to play one of those someday. And, maybe we can convince New Hartford to reissue them?!?!

That F47M looks SWEEEET!!! Bet she sounds nice too.
The F47 is the answer to the question, "Did Tacoma make good guitars?" The answer is "No, they didn't make good guitars, they made GREAT guitars - this F47 is proof!"
