Hey, folks. I've decided to replace the stock DiMarzios in my S-300AD with HB1s. The thing is I've never done anything even remotely as tricky as this (at least for me).

What is the correct step-by-step procedure of pickup replacement?

Here it is stock.

Not too difficult, provided you are familiar with soldering. Here's a web site on HB1s .

Make sure you have some flux to treat the wires, and always tin the wires before attempting to solder them. It's also wise to carefully write down the current wiring diagram in case you have to go back. Here's a good video:

Just take your time, and make sure you lay your guitar on a nice thick towel when working on it.

Thanks for the links, dougdnh. I lost out on one HB1s set on Ebay. Still I'm scared to damage something in a vintage instrument given that I have absolutely no expertise in replacing pups.
