Greetings all and thanks for the add. I recently acquired a 1992 D4-E NT from my uncle. Just had it setup and it plays great. The guitar has a pickup installed which I'm guessing is what the 'E' in the model # signifies. Does anyone know what pickup Guild would have been using on these guitars in the early 90s? I don't have an acoustic guitar amp but I plugged it into my 100W Lab Series electric guitar amp and it sounds surprisingly good. TIA. guild.jpg

Hello dan.schwie,

Welcome! There were several different pickups available as an option, but if there is no battery inside the guitar your D4-E-NT most likely has a Fishman AG-125 transducer.

Sincerely,

Welcome, Dan. D-4 was my gateway into brand appreciation for sure. It will be a Fishman no doubt.
I put a k&k in mine and it was dynamite! Great gig axe.

Welcome to LTG.

The "E" in the model number is for Electric.

I bought one new in 1995. I didn't know it was electric until I was looking around inside with an inspection mirror and saw wires, Huh? I saw a wire going to the strap endpin and saw that it was actually an input jack. Cool! I got more than I had bargained for.

A beautiful sounding guitar. Enjoy!!

Welcome, Dan.
I'm pretty new here myself. My first Guild brought me here, a D-30 arch back. I really like it. Here's a pic. Mine has an aftermarket LR Baggs blended pickup in it. I haven't been able to find much information about the Duet online or on this forum so far. The Duet II is common, but nothing on this. That said, it sounds really nice and is pretty flexible for messing with the sound. I like it. It is heavy, probably because it's an older model. It adds some weight to the guitar, but I don't mind. I hope you make lots of music with your D-4.

Welcome to the group. I have a '97 D55e and I'm sure it has the same under the saddle transducer your D4 has. It's a very, surprisingly hot pickup and sounds great!
