Hi all,
I need some help please. Having searched for a decent Peregrine for over a year, i managed to find a Standard in great condition in the US and the guy very generously shipped it to the UK for me. Excellent.
Well, can't believe it but just found me a mint and unused Custom here in snowy UK! What great luck! It's beautiful...

Anyway, i've been trying to find dates of manufacture but to no avail, so here's where i need help please if anyone can. The Standard is number PRC 309007 and the Custom is number 6689019. I look forward to hearing from you...

Many thanks, Kevin

Hi Kevin and congratulations on your new-to-you guitars! Can't help you with the dates but I'm sure someone else can.

Thanks, i do hope so. I am guessing the Custom was made in Tennessee, but it would be nice to be confirmed.

Hello Kevin,

The Peregrine Custom is the oldest one; it is an early one with a 'Chestnut' finish from 1999.
The Standard is from 2003. I do not have the color finish of that one on file. Maybe you could let me know!

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Hi Hans, that's excellent, thank you. Yes, the Custom is a chestnut colour and the Standard is 'burgundy'?
Where were they built please? Both have the Chesterfield inlay btw.

The Custom was made in Nashville, TN and the Standard was made in Corona, CA.

The official designation for the 'burgundy' color was 'Red Transparent'.

Maybe you could post some photos, so the other members will have an idea what we're talking about.

Sincerely,

Mmm, sorry Hans, don't know how to load images. I will take some photos of the Custom tomorrow and then check out the site to see how i do this.
Btw, i also have a 1988 Songbird KK000256. It was in quite a state when i bought it a long time ago so i have rebuilt it to my own spec and love using it on stage. It was originally Black and Red. Where would this have been built please?
Thanks for your wisdom on these wonderful guitars.

Hello again Kevin,

Your Songbird with ser. # KK000256 is listed in my database as having a Sunburst finish. Is that what you mean with 'Black and Red'. Anyway, the guitar was made in Westerly, RI.

Sincerely,

Hi Hans, I guess it must have been regarded as being sunburst, but not in the black and orange sort as we mostly know this by. It was definately red as opposed to orange. I thought it must have been Westerly, but there was no label on the guitar and it's good to have this confirmed. Thank you.

Hi Kevin: can't really say enough about looking around ... directions for posting pictures are included in the Forum News, Events, FAQ's Click This Link.

The short of it is that you can't patch a picture directly into this BB's software. You have to upload pictures to any one of a dozen photo-host sites on the web. Each of those sites will provide an 'IMG' address which you copy and paste into your draft posts.

Good luck!
