Have any of you ever seen a Guild that came from the factory without "Guild" written on the front of the peghead in some way? I mean no peghead overlay, no stencil, no decal, no nuttin'?

Not I, Darryl. We've got a few guys around here with pegheads that have been stripped of their faceplate veneers (for one reason or another), but I've never seen one that left the factory that way. Conceivably, a prototype could escape that way, I suppose.

In the far east, the factories build guitars for a variety of brands / manufacturers, so there it's probably a more common occurrence to put a generic headstock on someone brand's design.

Chaz,

I don't blame anybody for ditching the plastic peghead cover. That's the only thing I hate about Guilds.

Hans,

Ooops. I forgot about the classicals.

Life without one:
I have no class.
If I want one,
I have classical gas.

What about a D25, D35, D 40, low end starchtops, etc?
