I guess good effort gone bad?
Having owning several Pilots now - this one has me baffled as to the design.
The angle is too sharp and any pros/cons?

The headstock was definitely someone's Good Idea At The Time but the fact that it changed to the straighter version suggests the angles just did not work well. IMO.

Ah, the 80s. Best just to try to forget it.

Embrace it, Chris! Big hair, "greed works" (Wall Street), seagulls flocking, boys Georging...

Hey Frono,

That's not how it happened. The angled version came later and was available next to the regular headstock.
With that I do not mean to imply that the angled one worked well!

How many variations in the headstock were there on Pilots? Since I couldn't find Kurt's reference post on Pilots, I was thinking the severe angle was earlier, but that assumes only two variations with no overlap in time of use.

Thanks, once again, for being patient with me. At least in this case, Pilots are not in Volume I.

Every one I've ever seen were curved like a hockey stick!

We're not discussing the headstock of the Bladerunner Bass, but the headstock of the Pilot Bass

Six different ones and there was some overlap in time for some of them.

Spandex, big hair, locking trems on guitars, tasteless videos, a zillion EVH wanna-be guitarists, so a pointy headstock fits right in. Embrace the fact that it was the '80s!
