Its rare to see natural colored Starfires in online videos so it was nice to see this one.
My favorite color now but sometimes they look red. Another datapoint for them looking light brown.
I thought that was cool, he was wanting to try someone else's arrangement and wound up making his own and playing it his way which is what musicianship is all about.

I'm seeing a yellow PU selector switch which suggests to me a NS bass.

I have an NS SF-II like that one. The brownish color of mine shades more towards orange than red, somewhere in the vicinity of what is often referred to as "burnt Sienna". The color probably varies a bit depending on the individual sheet of ply used. Also, the color of online representations sometimes get tweaked to the extent that it winds up misrepresenting the actual color.

the NS SF-I on the left (which has now been discontinued and superceded by the Indo-made SF with "split P" pups) is finished in the Guild "cherry red" color

Indubitably!😀
Along with the larger diameter tuning posts almost indelibly cements it into the NS line.

I think walrus was joking about the wall paneling, glasses, long sideburn chops, and clothes!

They do look great. I have a natural mahogany 1977 Starfire IV. I really like mahogany top guitars in general and an archtop Starfire is no exception, guitar or bass.
