Well, as said in PM, the instrument looks nice. That's factory D-TAR Wavelength pickup with the Load n' Lock system.

The two things that bother me about the first picture are: 1. I don't know why there isn't a "USED" stamped on the back of the headstock, and 2. The tuners are not very well aligned side-to-side -- looks sloppy. Other than that, this guitar looks nice.

Enjoy your trip. Probably worth it!

Looks like a dread-like bottom to me for sure.

I believe there is one:

It might not be as obvious as on MIRC's example picture:

Also for those who don't know, that is MIRCs example picture of the serial number:

Versus the one in question:

Ralf, I don't see what you're seeing. I thought that was just camera reflection. But, yeah, maybe it's there.

That's not entirely correct! This guitar and all MIRC refurbished guitar were NOT sold by the Guild factory as second to a dealer. Guild sold them to MIRC either because they had any kind of defect like a finish defect or like it happened they had too much left over stock which they would not want to deal with after closure of a Guild factory, so they sold them without warranty to MIRC. After "refurbishing" or simply relabeling (and branding as USED) MIRC sold them to a dealer and a dealer sold it as a refurbished guitar.
Guitars sold as seconds or B-stock from the factories to dealers had different signs to them!

"YES".

Also factory B stock could carry a limited warranty, but part of MIRC's obligation was to ensure none of the liquidated instruments could ever be submitted for warranty claim to Guild, that's why they obliterated the s/n's.

They did offer an exchange policy to their dealers but it was not transferable to the end user. Dealers had to offer it as part of their terms of sale if they desired.
That would be the nice type to get, Al. Did Tacoma put the serial number on the block under the neck as well?
No, sticker only, same in NH. S/N plate on heelblock was an Oxnard innovation.
