This arrived yesterday, all the way from Seattle, where Steve Andersen has been making archtops for 40 years. This is his "streamline" model which means it's without any added bling, but still has all of the important components that make it an Andersen. It's 16" at the lower bout, Engleman spruce on the top and American maple on the sides and back. Carved on the top and back. Johnny Smith type pup, with ebony overlay on the headstock, fretboard, bridge and pickguard. Macassar on the back of the headstock and heal cap. What's not to like? The sound is smooth and creamy. The D-Addario strings are really sweet, noiseless basically.

You, obviously, celebrate the Christmas Season the entire month. And giving to such a nice person.

Two reasons why I can never own a guitar like that:

1). I'm not worthy. At all.

2). I would spend all my time with the thing flipped wrong way round and staring at the back.

Man, that's pretty.

Beautiful, Rich! I've eyed his guitars on archtop.com for years!

On Wednesday, I have an appointment to check out a Sadowsky Semi-Hollow. Should be fun!

Hi Rich - I chickened out! COVID surge here in MA, and I'm high risk. I just felt it wasn't a wise move.

Thanks for the link, but I am lusting after a Sadowsky Semi-Hollow model. I'd love to demo one first, of course.
