Friday I received the 1979 Starfire 4 I purchased though LTG. First I wanted to say what a pleasure it was dealing with secndshft. He was passing through town so he brought the guitar with him and It was great meeting him in person and discussing guitars and such. I wish all transactions were that smooth. The guitar is all original with the OHSC and the setup is perfect for me. It has a spot on the neck in which the finish has chipped off so I will drop fill that at some point as I can feel it with my hand when playing but that was clearly noted in the posting and it is actually smaller than what it looked like in the photos. I have been playing it for the last couple of days and it sounds great and a little thicker and little more dark than my other Starfire IV and V with anti-hums. I love that it has a slightly different sound than my other guitars. I was worried about the neck size and weight but I am pleasantly surprised with both. It is not a feather weight but not a boat anchor. A good middle ground. The neck is a hair over 1 5/8” but feels much more full in the hand. I am very pleased and I must have a thing for black Starfires as this is my third!

Very cool, congrats! I like the amp strap handle on the case, too. :geek:

very nice! congrats and enjoy! love hearing these great stories about LTG
some of these weigh in on the scale, but the weight *distribution on them is perfect (on my 84 at least), very manageable
