I have a '61 X-175B that could use a new case.

It seems like the Newark Street X-175 is dimensionally very close to the old original, so imagining it might be a perfect fit.

Can anyone who has one give me an idea about the fit, quality and sturdiness of these cases?

Thanks!

Quality is quite good. Certainly good protection for your guitar. The locks may be not the highest quality but for me they are certainly goog enough.

could you post a pic of your guitar? 61 is kind of where the body shape was morphing into the bigger deeper 60's body. My 62 an 63 are a hair too big. As in you can close the case, but you really don't want to...

Thanks all for checking in.....looks like that case will do the job!

Walter....it is a good looker but those two Franz pickups and some especially interactive controls make for a good sounding and very versatile guitar.
But of course you play and know these things....

I bought a new X175 case for a 1963 and it was fine.

The new X175 cases are really nice quality arched top TKL cases. They are the same cases that the MIJ Gretsch Pro Line guitars come in.
The latches are not quite the same quality they were a few years ago, but I haven't had any problems with mine. They also have two point neck supports which is very nice. Oh yes.....your guitars are breathtaking.:) (y)(y)
