Hi folks,

Has anybody here replaced the machine heads on a 2013 Starfire ? I'm looking for replacement tuners with the same footprint but with a smaller turning key. I know Hipshot make some alternatives but I'm not sure if the keys are smaller. I'm not digging the look of the Grovers, they seem out of proportion compared to the head stock.

Thanks,
Rob

Get the Hipshots with the “mini clover”key option. Much smaller than Grover’s.
Email them and ask if they can do better on the price and they will. At least they did on my 4 sets each time I asked over the years.

See pics here:

Wow that's exactly what I was after. Many Thanks lungimsam ! I'll email them and ask if they have direct drop ins with mini clovers. I don't want to drill any new holes.
Thanks again mate.

You will need to order them with the 1/2”” shafts and 18mm bushings to fit the 2013 NS Starfire Bass. I assume yours is a 2013 with bridge pup. The 18mm bushings I think are $4 more.
They come standard with 17mm, which can also fit if you bulk them up with a few winds of masking tape. But the 18mm fit perfectly.
You will need to drill one tiny screw hole for their set screw.
The whole thing sits in the footprint of your Grover tuner so if you ever go back to Grover’s you will not see anything.
