This week I purchased a new Starfire V white. Enjoying it so far, the little time I have had with it. Around the internet the Starfire V's are on an especially good sale, I purchased mine from one of the warehouse stores for even cheaper in the color white.

I attached a few pics to show issues though I have at the nut. The hairline crack in the finish im not so worried about, its the indent/crack where the nut touches. It almost makes it look like the nut isnt even fully touching. As well along the entire first fret you can see a small black mark in the cream color and a very small crack in the fretboard wood.

How bad do you think this is for new condition? Its a tough decision returning it because I got such an incredibly good deal and I dont know if there are any new starfire's left to exchange it for.

First of all, welcome aboard!

First pic, especially, looks to me like damage from tool work, not something progressive. I doubt that'll get any worse over time. Can you live with it?

The fretboard crack in the second picture looks like the rosewood was cut poorly when the fret was slotted. Not sure. Just keep it treated with some bore oil.

I mean, if you got it for a great deal, then I'd ignore this. If you really care about "new" condition, then you should return it. You could try going the warrantee route.
