I own a '62 Duane Eddy that is in need for a neck reset. Nothing that normally would scare me, as I have several guitars gone through that process before. So I brought the guitar to a qualified luthier here in the Netherlands - 20 years experience and an official Martin repair shop - only to find out a few weeks later that he sais it cant be done (?)
He drilled three holes through the 15th fret position - but cannot find the space in between the heel block and dovetail. So he thinks there might be some other type of neck joint, or the connection is too tight to steam off.
So, anyone here have an idea what could be the problem ? And especially, does anyone have clear picks of the heel & neck pocket of a thinline Guild (Duane Eddy, or perhaps Starfire model )
(PS as I am sure many of you would immediately spring to mind - of course I also contacted fellow dutchman Hans Moust; unfortunately Hans has a big back log on repairs from his own customers to take on extra work)
