I need to get a gold tuneomatic for my X170, as I need to switch to a plain G string (got a touch of tendinitis in my left arm and can't bend a wound G anymore). I seem to remember hearing that the bridge stud spacing on the base Guild used in the 90's was a bit non-standard: true? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Can you measure it? Even if you can’t see the centers of the posts, just get it from the same side on each.

Tried measuring last night with the bridge on the guitar, but the thumbwheels were in the way. I know, I can take the bridge off and measure it...but I was hoping perhaps someone out there knew off the top of their heads.

I do seem to remember that it wasn't standard, compared to most Gibson-type bridges.

You could even measure the edges of the thumb wheels. They are the same diameter, so their edge will reveal the center to center.

Hello Ron,

Here's a link to the easiest solution that I've found so far and that is also 'somewhat' in the Guild tradition.

Obviously you need one in gold for an X-170.

Sincerely,
