Picked this up from a local CL/TGP ad. Very clean Vintage Sound hand-wired clone of a Deluxe Reverb. It’s an earlier version about 8 years old, but fairly close to their current VS22, except for lack of their reverb dwell feature. However, this was made as a separate head and speaker cab (solid pine and birch), which makes transport so much easier on the back. This also has the clean channel mod to give it a little brown amp gain and is also tied into the reverb and tremolo. So, really two very useful channels. The construction quality is superb.

The speaker is a little dark sounding, so that might need a change. However, I only heard it with the seller’s LP as I don’t have an electric right now, and his settings aren’t how I would play. I will mess around with it for a while and then decide. I “think” the cab is big enough for a 2x10 baffle if I ever wanted.

Coming from playing 100 watt amps in my yout’, I thought a little ol’ 22 watt amp should be pretty tame. Not! This sucker gets loud. Too loud for the bedroom, which I didn’t want to be limited to. I’m thinking maybe a Weber or some attenuator, since there is no effects out loop to stick a volume control on it.

But wait a minute Mikey, you don’t have an electric guitar!? Why do you need this kind of amp? Well, stay tuned my friends! It’s all slowly coming back to me… how much more complicated it is playing electric. Especially with a tube amp. Just needed to shake things up a bit I guess.
