These days I play mostly acoustic but please allow me to introduce my electric guitar - a 1962 Starfire I. Why did you choose the single pickup version says you? Cuz I have a thing for single pickup guitars says I. Nah, they ain't the easiest things to get sounds out of - you gotta pull the music out of them.
But I ain't obsessed with tone anyway and as long as I can dial in a slight mid-level snarl or a bit of low end growl when playing slide I am as happy as a pig in clover. Anway, here she be.

Beautiful... I like the single-pups too. They were good enough for Wes.

I still use DeArmond 210 pickups slapped across the soundholes of my acoustics.

Abut the only thing more Old School than a DeArmond pup would be to throw on a set of Black Diamond strings. You geezers out there will remember these. They were everwhere - you could buy them in a hardware store. After a bit of playing, the windings would separate in several places and you could slide the sections back and forth along the string core.
