And it should ease the stress for those who travel with their gear. It sounds like it could work - depending on the price/fee for the instrument passport.

Exactly what I thought.... with a passport valid only 3 years, let's hope for those concerned it won't be too expensive.

I hope this idea develops pretty quickly too. It sure would help matters greatly. Seems logical, but as ever, 'cost' can be a real issue.
I found out this morning from MyUS that to ship a guitar with Abolone and MOP, an extra $180.00 fee would apply to Each item. Yikes!

Under the lois du jour, it makes so much sense for those of us who travel with instruments, especially internationally.

Yet to me, sadly so.

It is, indeed, a logical progression as the world marches increasingly *lockstep* to the "Battle Hymn of Salvation Though Even More Regulation".
