There are many performances of this, but this one is striking for it's purity and simplicity. The song is from the old David Bowie film. The composer of the song (who just died recently) also played a major character in the movie from sometime around 1983.

Ryuichi Sakamoto was the composer (and actor in the film). One of my favorite musical artists going back to when he was in Yellow Magic Orchestra.
