There's a name that doesn't come up that often, but when it does, good memories! Most of all, he penned the titular song for "Walk Hard", one of the funniest movies ever, with one of the best, if not THE best set of original songs.

One of my all time faves. Have seen Marshall Crenshaw live numerous times over the years in just about every configuration: solo acoustic, 3 piece band to a 5 piece band. Always interesting to see what he is playing. Gretsches, Guilds, Strats, Teles, PRS you name it. Crenshaw was known for having a serious vintage guitar collection but I have heard he has sold off quite a bit of it over the years.

I've seen Marshall Crenshaw play a number of times, mostly back in his early days. Always put on a strong show.

Aside: a friend of mine had his mom as a teacher in elementary school, right around the time M.C. got his Beatlemania gig. Mrs. C. used to play her son's home demos to the class. :)

Correction: the friend in question tells me I got it wrong. Mrs. C. taught her in high school, and Marshall was already successful and well-known by that time. At least I remembered the demos part right!

Her's the original picture Brad posted from the New Haven Register.
Seems to be a late 60's/early 70's CE-100D with Guildsby and mini humbuckers. It has Kolb tuners and Hans wrote in his book Guild started using Kolb tuners in 1968.

The X-150 Hans ID'd is this one:
