I've been watching his progress from the start and part four just came out. My favorite part of all of this is that the entire story is a fabulous example of iteration in the engineering and design process, and combined with his energy and enthusiasm I just can't stop watching. Plus I just love weird clocks. :)

When I saw the first video my initial thought was that there was no way he could get that thing to update frequently enough to be useful. I was wrong!

It's Marble O'Clock! Worthy of being listed in a Sharper Image catalog.

Is Sharper Image still a thing even??

No. Neither is a marble clock.

The Sharper Image is absolutely still a thing. They just don't have stores and were acquired in 2016 after the whole Ionic Breeze thing destroyed their reputation and they closed in 2008. We get their catalog every Christmas. Sharper Image was the first place I ever saw a Force FX lightsaber. :)

I only watched Part 4 but it's still pretty amazing. This guy is obsessed, but entertaining. And possibly a genius...

Or SkyMall.

Watched all 4. Loved it. The poor guy. We get a quick 40 min of pleasure from his weeks and weeks of frustration. Just hate to know where all the failed parts and cuttings go. I'm already becoming anti composite patio furniture just from all the cuts and routering of partial plastics that wind up in landfills.

I know some guys that use industrial shredders and then re-melt and extrude it i to new filament. That only works if all the plastic is the same and only looks good if it’s all the same color.
