There is a m65 on reverb
https://reverb.com/item/2202407-guild-m-65-freshman-3-4th-1960s-sunburst

its a short scale and not with a franz pickup

i am looking for an older model with a franz for jazz guitar but maybe this one in short scale and a different pickup
is better?
does anyone know about this pickup and jazz tone?

Thanks in advance!
Known as the "Mickey Mouse" pickup. Basically, a small single coil. I'll let others with first hand experience talk about the sound.

First of all, I'm not an expert either, but I'm pretty sure that the seller mislabeled this Freshman. I think it's a full scale, since the neck joins the body at the 16th fret, rather than the 14th like the 3/4 models do.

As AcornHouse mentioned, it has a single coil Mickey Mouse PU which sounds pretty good. Depending on what tone you seek, it may work out for you, however I think a Franz is better suited to jazz. I've only played briefly through them once when demo'ing a different model for a member here, so I can't speak about them as well as others can.

The seller is correct in that it is a 60s model, most likely post '65. If I had the cash, I'd swipe it up. It appears to be a tight and clean example, and a nice full-scale M-65 is near the top of my wishlist.

That's all I got. Hope that helps you!

That is a great catch thank you! It's definitely the full scale version!
Does anyone have practical experience with this pickup for jazz tone? Any advice would be appreciated!
Cheers

Does anyone know how the Mickey Mouse pickup measures up to the franz for jazz tone?
