very cool. My wife found an old nest last winter in a tree in our back yard. It was large and made of twigs like that one. Perhaps it was from a dove. We sure have plenty around the place. It's a lot of fun to have one so close by.

Do plan to compile a photographic record of the progress?

I've got a lot of doves here in Vegas. They're in the yard all the time. I wonder where they nest? I've never seen one. No shortage of options. The backyard has three huge fir trees, and ten palm trees. Front has two Mulberry trees. I'm guessing the fir trees, but maybe the palms too. Or maybe they nest somewhere else. I don't know. Love the little dove eggs.... Tom in Vegas

Cool!
I guess the haphazard, fast & sloppy approach to their nest building (un)skills seems to work.

That casual style of construction might help disguise the nest, too . . . probably looks like a pile of twigs, from the side or below.

The problem is going to be keeping the fledgling flyers away from our two cats. Guess they'll be locked inside for a few days when its about that time!

I'll try to add some more photos when they hatch. Watering my expensive Mother's Day planter is going to be tricky, too
