An acquaintance contacted me and asked if I had any grandchildren or grand-nieces/nephews and would be interested in a three string Loog guitar, a purpose-designed children's guitar. He had acquired it in a cash plus misc stuff trade for something he had up on CL. The cash was enough that he would have sold his item for that price, but being a pack rat, he took the misc stuff as well. He seemed to be bemused by and slightly impressed with the Loog. He said it seemed to be of an OK build quality, it was tuneable, it intoned reasonably well, and it didn't sound absolutely terrible.

Below, a screenshot of a very serious-looking little guitarist from a Loog video:

I have no grandchildren/nieces/nephews, but I am of a curious, fragmented, almost ADD nature, so I went looking, even though I had better things to do. The Loogs are interesting products, seemingly aimed at the three-to-twelve-year-old market space. They come in three string (G, B, E) and six string versions (standard tuning). They use nylon strings on their acoustics. They are very inexpensive, and they seem to be well reviewed.

I have no association with Loog. I did not know of their existence until yesterday.
