A post becomes political I think (in a context of what shouldn't be allowed here I mean) when it takes part for one side against an other (Democrats versus Republicans - U.S. -, Conservative against Labour - U.K. -, right against left - here - and so on).., and start arguing about it. No-one is forced to be here, that's right, but no-one either is being forced to help good and intelligent people to give a valuable comment about whatever happen's, when relevant. There's a world around, and we are part of it. Music is a part of it, songs as well. Think that early Dylan songs, some Neil Young or CSN, and many others wouldn't be allowed here, that they couln't speak their mind - in an appropriate context that is -, is rather funny (or not), or strange and more...There are great people here, that make this Forum's value too... °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°Hope this helps - everything is political to a certain extend (managing or taking care of the city life - or larger ensembles today -, according to the original word's meaning -in ancient Greek-)...Rules to be used if necessary.

Whats the point of having a Miscellaneous section when Moderators see things that doesnt fit there there liking (guitar unrelated gets locked) Free speach stifled, thanks LTG
Hadn't noticed that, but I don't see it as a down side. It's their website. They can run it any way they want.

I wish they ran a couple other forums I use. The folks in some of 'em get away with some real spewing.

"many others wouldn't be allowed here, that they couln't speak their mind - in an appropriate context that is -, is rather funny (or not)"

I'll speak as a forum user, not as a moderator... This forum has a topic that it is based on; Guitars. While there are a few other little corners like " Music Humor " etc, it is definitely a themed forum. Places on the web that allow topics of any kind, where you can " speak your mind " are marketed as such. Reddit, perhaps falls into that. I suspect there are plenty of others. With that in mind, the performers you listed above would not be playing their music in locations where they didn't fit the marketed theme. They wouldn't force their style on the audience at a church or a bluegrass festival or a jazz club. This forum is NOT a speak your mind on any topic place. Consider it the wrong venue for the performers you mentioned. I'm sure there may be another club down the street that fits that format better.

As one who inadvertently wandered into dangerous territory on the forum a while back and was gigged, I need to say that I agreed with the moderator who jumped in. Sometimes it happens (my post had to do with Lindy Fralin pickups, but I happened to use the "C" word so in the news lately). I really did understand how it could have veered into nasty territory had the moderator not stepped in, though at the time I wasn't aware of the possibility. I agree, this is a good forum BECAUSE it is moderated.
