Beautiful, sunny day in SW Michigan, blew leaves, mowed the lawn one last time and retired the Ford tractor to the shed along with the weed trimmer and leaf blower.

Time to get out the snow shovel and XC skiis! :D

Mowed my yard for the last time of the season (finally) a couple weeks ago thanks to the frosts and a couple of freezes. No leaves to speak of except a few pearwood leaves here and there. Those can do what they wanna do :)

Lucky you, temps around here are mild enough grass is still growing. I gave it a shot of fertilizer recently, it'll be a while yet before Winterizing the mower. Cut the lawn ten days ago & had to do it again today.

Actually, I might transplant a few bushes and grasses today, it's the perfect time for that. I have some dwarf Korean lilacs I want to move because they're not getting enough sun where they're at, and major hostas and decorative grasses that need to be divided and moved.

I've just started mowing down here. With the return of La Niña, gotta wait for breaks in the rain, though.

Like "me and Loretta" in the John Prine classic, Hello in There, we have an apartment in the city....and we like living here.
I designed and built the place "with a little help from my friends" and when we moved here almost 12 years ago, we gave away ALL of our lawn-care paraphernalia.

We used to love doing yard work but found out quickly that we don't miss it at all! :D

Unless your significant other uses leaf raking for spousal behavior modification, leave the leaves on the lawn, and mulch them in with your mower: http://pubs.ext.vt.edu/430/430-521/430-521.html

Life is so much better that way. I'll put the bag on the mower once (and only once) just so I have something for the compost pile. Otherwise, mulch 'em in.
