His last performance was for some soundstage filming for The Kids Are Alright on May 25th 78 in front of a small audience at Shepperton Studios.

His last concert performance in front of a paid ticket audience??

June 23rd 1977 in LA, joining Led Zeppelin for both John Bonham’s solo Moby Dick and the encores.

The stories of Moon and Bonham’s late night shenanigans back at the Sunset Hyatt Hotel (nicknamed the Riot House by touring bands) was that of legendary rock band excess!! The “who could throw a TV furthest from the top floor balcony” happened that night. 🤣🤣

Sadly, both men had their inner demons and it took them both from the world of adoring fans and aspiring musicians that considered them the 2 best in the biz. 😢😢

My wife and I have a never ending “disagreement ” as to who was the best. Moon is my man, Bonham is hers. Of course Buddy Rich was the greatest drummer I’ve ever seen in my life by far, but for rock those two were simply amazing.
