Well, that was fun/ Mostly just local hacks, but mostly good local hacks. I'd love to play along with any of them. Maybe at the next event.

I did not really begin to appreciate John Prine's song writing ability and style until the last few years. He was a master of simple but articulate lyrics and progressions. Every time I listen to his work I am more amazed at his skill and insight into the human condition, and the American condition. I am sure there were many more songs that man would have created had he not left us so soon.
I wish I could write like he did. I'll have to settle with trying to cover his beautiful songs and doing best that I can manage.
