but this one's close. Just got my first iPod. Yes, I know. Anyway, these earbuds are a huge pain in the arse. What the heck do you do with them while it's in your pocket? Such a tangled up mess that it's almost more trouble than it's worth. Anyone have a better solution?

I always carry mine in a back pocket.
I can't handle those ear buds so I use a pair of lightweight, collapsible head phones. I run the cord for the phones down my back, inside my shirt, and plug it in.
Easy enough to hang the phones around your neck when you're not listening.
