I posted about this once before but to me at least, it's so cool I needed to again.
So, although I've reduced my guitar inventory by about 32 over the last 3 months or so, I still have more than I need or should have but maybe that's not such a bad thing. I've been playing my Guild and Gibson guitars almost exclusively over the last 6 months or so and have kind of neglected my Martins.
But, I needed to re-arrange my guitar room a bit so I took that opportunity to take out all my Martins, pop the case, play 'em just a tad and let them get some of that good air. Just like before, when I left the room and came back about 2 hours later, it was like I died and went to heaven. Many of these Martins are newer and have had limited time outside their cases by either me or the prior owner(s). They still have that wonderful aroma. When you get a mixture of aromas from Sitka, Adirondack, Carpathian, various Rosewoods, Various Maples, African and Honduran Mahogany, Cocobolo, Ash and more it's just a really heady experience. The only thing I can liken it to are those scrumptious meals my Mother and Grandmothers used to bake in the oven.
Well, back to my aroma therapy for the day.
