The song "Cretin Hop" was inspired by Cretin Avenue in St. Paul, Minn., which is named after former Bishop Joseph Crétin. The Ramones noticed the name while on tour.

 With a similiar surname, That song played quite a big role in my High school years madness! My friends and I incorperated those lyrics into our general babble. Oh the great and funny memories I have with that song. 8) Those whole albums........just great stuff!
Thanks Tface! It's been a long time between 'hops'. :D

For those who dont know.......The Ramones slogan, 'Gabba Gabba hey' is supposed to have been inspired from this scene. The movie was called "Freaks" and to accept a new person into their group, they had a drinking ritual and bond, from the 'loving cup'.
The words are "Gooble Gobble" But back in the days before 'research' the 'Ramones' ( Brothers only throgh 'the Loving cup' ritual) saw it at the movies and remembered it as 'Gabba gabba'.....'We accept you!....One of Us'

The Ramones encouraged us to....Embrace your inner freak.
'I' actually make a cameo appearence at 28 secs.And,... My lovely 'Cretin Girl' appears, at about 30sec. Aint she sweet?

    Oh man, I'm so envious. I would have loved to have gone to CBGBs back in the day! About 5 or 6 years too young & 10,000 miles too far away. :( :(

You must have some stories to tell. John (SG) related some to me, including trying to see the Sex Pistols but not being able to get in & instead have a great time at a party which started in the car park of the venue.

Still I have managed to see the Ramones twice & the Sex Pitsols on their Filthy Lucre tour. Also caught The Damned, The Buzzcocks, Echo & The Bunnymen & a few others.
