I suggested that the roundness or size of the eyeball had been retouched, because it's a meme.

If that was your point then my point was that the retouching, if any, had taken place prior to 2013 when the image was originally published, or at least used by National Geographic. Not all memes require retouching or any other modification of a "real" or 'original" photo.

in fact nothing about that photo looks like it's from a pro photographer

As noted above the photo is credited to Joel Satore https://www.joelsartore.com/ who seems to be making more money from his photographs than we are making by discussing it. That fits my definition of professional. Given some of your other comments about photography perhaps you should consider the possibility that people who don't do something to your standards or esthetics can nevertheless be considered professional.

The photo was obviously bastardized by the memester, it's pixilated, probably taken without permission, or should I say maybe, or just never say anything because then you can't be wrong.

Do all venomous snakes have slitted eyes?

Poisonous snakes' eyes are comparable to a cat's eye, as they possess slit-like elliptical pupils. In contrast, harmless snakes have round pupils. With that being said, this identification method can be dangerous. It is better to keep a safe distance when observing a snake.
