Hello,
Does anyone have one of these guitars that they can shoot me block dimensions (L X W) on each block for a build in progress? (early 60's were the rather small block inlays)
I really need someones help on this, pics have been taken throughout the build and will be posted on this forum upon completion.
Accuracy in measurement is very key here.
I thank you all in advance for looking, btw I don't mind block measurements from different early 335 owners' axes. Take care, -freezerburn

freezerburn,

I have friend who has been known to age his guitar re-finish work with, ah, 'freezerburn'. How does that work for you?

I have a '65 335 I can give you the block dimensions on, but that's as far back as I can go. Let me know if that will help.

gilded,
Thanks for the reply, I googled the '65 and it looks like it has the smaller size blocks that I need dims of... I don't think the earlier blocks are any smaller..?? Sooo- I think yours would be great! If there is ANY difference from block to block to block please indicate that in your measurements please, Sir. Thanks again -freezerburn (freezerburn-Alaska humor)

Alaska Mon',

I'll measure the markers tonight with a micrometer and get the results to you. Decimal inch measurements will be okay??

I used a Mitutoyo 'Absolute Digimatic' CD-6"CS micrometer. I zeroed it out every time I measured except for the last three height measurements on frets 17, 19 and 21.

Hope this helps. Harry

Thanks Harry!
Absolutely perfect, I couldn't have hoped for anything better. I am right now going to paste that info to an email to my builder. We thank you, wow that was fast too holy smoke
Like I mentioned before, photos have been taken from the beginning- bare blocks of woods, hardware, etc all hand picked by me over a year+ and then piled on my builders bench with a detailed idea of what I wanted early this year. And the builder has TALENT. All this began around this time, 2010.
Anywho from day one I decided even then that the build log would go on this site, and so it will be. I'm pretty sure completion will be before Christmas. You will be getting a pm from me Harry the day I start posting it in. Thanks again and regards, -freezerburn
