I am hoping Al is doing well. Looking forward to his return and posts.

There are many older, wiser, veteran, senior voices on the LTG, and I look forward everyday to read them. You get used to it you know? Me being a somewhat younger (53) member, I start to consider many of you as older brothers. Maybe it sounds silly...

Al sure is one of them to me.

You are right, he posted the last time on 4/27! That's a long time without Al! Maybe somebody has his phone information an could check with him? E-Mail won't help if he is without a computer.

davismanLV has reported phone calls with Al. There may have been one last week and the post saying so got inadvertently removed from view and not restored. But he personally is fine.

Al tends to be a curmudgeon so I don't know whether his failure to obtain internet (and by internet, I mean LTG) access is a philosophy issue or a financial issue. If it's the latter perhaps someone should organize a GoFundMe campaign?

Hey all, I spoke with Al early last week or last weekend, I forget. He's doing well. Nothing much has changed so I didn't really mention it. He's working on getting a laptop or some kinda computer for access but since he can't shop online he's relegated to going shopping to physical stores and he's a bit of a fuss as i'm sure you know. Also, still no wifi or internet access at home and no smart phone. So that's really all there is to that. He may be just killing time before he goes back to work, but no word so far on when that will be yet. But he's fine, and said to say HI to everyone. I told him he was missed by everyone. That's all I got.

Woody, you're not a sap you're just a nice guy and you miss Al's input and presence here as many do. Most know that Al and I have an odd relationship and we've had some rather spectacular rows here and disagreements on occasion. Doesn't mean I don't like him and we buried the hatchet after this last blow up and so I try to keep in touch enough to make sure he's okay. In another week I'll give another call and see if we can get a better update on his status. How does that work for ya??

It's not the same without Al. Sometimes he was the only one that laughed at my jokes or took my bait.

If I thought it was as simple as him needing a computer then I'd find one and ship it to him. The planet is littered with unwanted computers. But, I have a feeling this is some kind of badge of honor for him, not that I respect that; I'm annoyed by people that are proud of the fact that they aren't growing any more.

i think he was also taking care of his mother or something if i recall correctly, and had posted that he was good just not online as much. the last time someone checked on him he was doing good. i have his number and can "tex" t him later
