I don't think it means anything beyond a stylized image of a happy Guild picker?
:) Probably right, Walter. I'm sure those guys weren't imagining that we'd be sitting here 60 years later wondering about why they drew the label that way. :) Makes me feel a little silly.

Wonder if it's a character of Dronge Sr.? From the photo's of him in Hans' book it does kinda look like him. Is 'Casper' wearing a bow tie? That could be a clue....One things for certain, I've wasted way too much of my time looking for a photo of Mr. Dronge in a bow tie  !

That too S.G. and Lucky Elephant popcorn......oops, that is going waaaay back...it was pink and white, and they had great prizes in the box...guess I didn't have many toys as a kid... :? Steffan
Yeah? Try spending some time in a closet full of mothballs...you won't care if you don't have many toys...
Me? I think an oval label has better visual appeal than a round one. And I was an art student once so my opinion counts.

I prefer stamped or burned/branded over labels.
Labels can fall out or become damaged.
Otherwise I don't really care which label is used.

Not a shock to those who know me, but I'll never get used to a round Guild label. I think with me it's that Guild went with the round label when they moved to Corona, and I will always associate the round label with the abandonment of Westerly. I know, I know, I know.....get over it! :) Sorry, I can't, and am sure that I never will. But you've asked, so there you have it.

Guild might have realized that, as they used a oval label with Westerly style on the new GSR T-500! (see the picture on the provious page)That is a question for LMG III if they now will start using it on all NH models again.

What are they trying to do, win me over  ? Man I'll tell you, if they go back to the old labels, and keep building quality guitars, and market the brand as they have.......well, it's making it very difficult for me to continue not liking them! :) They're going to dick around here and force me to buy one of these things.

Well, Jim..... I guess their plan is working then......

I'm kinda with TMG on this one.... I don't really care. The different label shapes are good for making a quick, cursory identify as far as era goes.... and beyond that it doesn't matter.

I'll tell you Tom, and it almost killed me when I said it here before, but they appear to be really trying......and I like that. They really are making it hard to stay mad at them.

I better change my handle to "Newt Hartford' before somebody 'round here beats me to it.
