I wish I still had a horse, we had two of them when I was growing up. Fascinating creatures,
Hey Dave. I’m really sorry to have to tell you this, but if that’s your place in the background, I’m gonna have to come live there…..I didn't grow up with horses. But, in 30+ years of ranch vacations and 5+ years helping my wife, Anne, at the stable with her little Arabian mare Maria, I discovered what wonderful creatures they are, and that spending time with them has such a calming, therapeutic effect. When we lost Maria last fall, we were heart broken...
In January, we welcomed two new members into our family:
One the left is "Minnie Mouse (registered Eros Galadoniaa)," a 17 year old Arabian x Hackney mare who will be Anne's partner in the dressage arena. On the right (and in my new avatar) is "Dexter (registered TF Ramses Faraoh)," a 10-year old full-blooded Egyptian Arabian gelding to be my "trail" horse and all around best buddy. So here I am, at 67, learning everything I need to know about caring for my new friend...
Unfortunately, we live in Salt Lake City. The "kids" are stabled about 35 minutes south of us, in Bluffdale. Anne's still working (I am retired), so we manage to get down to visit/ride/exercise/or just plain watch the horses be horses, 4 days a week most weeks, and 5 days when we are lucky.Hey Dave. Ok Dave no worries. But just maybe they have an extra stall there I could rent, I really don’t need much room. And if I’m on full board, then I won’t have to worry about food.Unfortunately, we live in Salt Lake City. The "kids" are stabled about 35 minutes south of us, in Bluffdale.
