At least that FB has a cool stripe in it, from the look of things

You're getting really close with that gif, GAD. It shows the sparkle better and how "deep" the finish really is. Your relentless pursuit of perfection is admirable!

Thanks! It’s a curse but it makes me good at what I do.

I like it as a gif but the file is enormous. That one is scaled down and it’s still 20MB. I had to host it on my other site because the admin here is a jerk and the file is too big. :)

That gif is very cool GAD.

On that picture you posted showing the original with the guy from Garbage - I really like the finish on the one Dallas Perry is playing.
I know its the stage lights giving it is glow but it looks great.
I wonder what color it really is?

Tough to tell with stage lights, but I bet Hans knows.

Maybe Goldtop? Maybe some wacky custom finish like this copper SFIII from the same era?

Color-shifting flakes. What a bratty guitar. 😜
Maybe you need a series of photos instead of a single pic to really show what's going on?

Proof that a static photograph can't really create the image in your brain that your 3-D movie eyes do. I have had the same trouble trying to show the "veining" in my quilted maple Taylor. It's insane, and I cannot do it justice with a still frame. Having said that, your photography skills definitely outshine mine, GAD! That is one photogenic axe, baby!

Lol, it seems there is a gif for just about everything.

And if you want to see how it’s done, this video popped up in my feed. (Personally, I think they lessened the effect of the holoflake by dyeing it purple.)

That video is very interesting! But definitely the Guild Holoflake "silver" is way cooler!

This is probably the most confounding thing I've ever tried to photograph.

Resembles a LSD trip which I've never taken, but mescalin I have. I don't recommend it. I tripped in the Himalayas during Peace Corps, need I say more? We visited a village at 6,000 feet a couple of years ago that claims they descend from Alexander the Great's army. They claim to maintain their purity they won't touch an outsider. The village headman fines any village for touching an outsider 3,000 rupees which is a king's ransom for the villager. Their economy is based on producing hashish for hippies that flock to the village.

And now this is "normal" behavior throughout the world...
