My '68 F-112's bridge saddle is so low, it could sound better with the strings up higher, it's not all it could be. It's totally flat without any radius, it's a problem I'm trying to fix and has been holding the guitar back a long time.

The saddle looks greenish, probably some unbleached bone.

Measurements are seen in pics, length 97 mm, so any 10cm saddle will work, width is 3/32" looking like 2.8mm, so preferably something with 3mm thickness, and height should be near twice what is it to get the strings up so 4-5mm in height.

Does anyone have such a saddle in a drawer?

Time to get a blank and borrow the dremel tool from someone. Seriously, though, wouldn't it be easier to have your local tech do the deed? You're gonna' want that shaped correctly for a snug fit.

Christopher Cozad reached out and is going to make/send me a saddle, this is awesome, the radius will be right, apparently 20º.

And some compensation, which I don't personally do, but I have made a lot of bridge saddles.

The Stew Mac Martin blank is the closest to the material needed for this job, but tall enough if you buy one to split in two and make two saddles, one high, one low for seasonal changes.

I'm super excited to finally get a proper saddle under those strings and get em up a little. It's so low there's a tiny hump in the neck down by the body, and playing up the neck to the body on the D/G strings, there's notes that aren't even there...

However, it sounds good at the nut, better than good, it's just purely angelic.

I've been playing it in the evening, to a virtual torrent of compliments from wife, usually it's just requests to turn down the volume or give her ears a rest. You know your partner loves your playing when you see the noise cancelling headphones on.

Could a 12 string be your only acoustic or just simply your best acoustic guitar?

I forgot to mention, no charge ;[]

I'll have to pay this forward somehow, become a member again?

Now that I'm thinking about it, I need Christopher to make more saddles ;[]

My '73 D-35 has a pathetically low saddle, somehow it sounds great and plays real easy but I know it has more sonic potential.

My F-30 has one of the nicest factory saddles of all my guitars.
