Anybody know what these are called or where to find one or a set?

Hello saltfuture,

Those were made by Gotoh and Guild used them during the '70s and early '80s.
They're sort of an 'OK' tuner; not great but they hold tuning reasonably well. Since these tuners are not part of the Gotoh line any longer and there's nothing available as a drop-in replacement, I try to keep used ones in stock, which is not always easy.
Right now I have a few left but I'm not sure if I have the proper side that you need.

Just send me an e-mail!

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

My G37 has the same tuners. I've never had one off, but they look heavy, perhaps contributing to the overall heftiness of my G37.

I could use one too (at least one) Which one of yours is weak, tuner on my G is getting a little loosey goosey & has a disturbing metal to metal feel. Still functions just fine, till...

A big thank you to Hans for helping me out!

This was my first experience with these tuners, and I must say... They are big, heavy, kinda crappy, and really sharp on the ends. Restring without a string winder would be hell for a diabetic.

I mentioned in another thread that I too have a particular problem with the G. I'm going to replace the whole set, but am not concerned at all with trying to match the originals. I'm going to just go with my luthier's recommendation.
