Hello everyone, I am new to the forum. I just bought a used Guild GAD-G212NAT on Ebay. I'm sure there are some of you here that could tell me something about this 12-string. This is the first time I have ever had a Guild. Thanks in advance.

Welcome Harry,

All I know about the G212 is that it is a 12string dread. I know of them, but have never seen one. Others who know much more than I will be around shortly.

Hi Harry and welcome to LTG. I don't know that model but Guild has a long tradition of making the world's best 12-string guitars and ... by the way, Canucki is spoken here ... we have several members also from Canuckistan ... Again, welcome to LTG!

Even GADs?
 I'd say 'good question' but ...

I haven't owned a GAD but going by what GAD owners have posted here, none of them seem to think they got short-changed.

I've heard some very positive reviews of the GAD F212 on this forum by those who have tried it. I have not.

Hey Harry,

Welcome to LTG and congrats on the Guild.

I have played a couple GAD 12 strings and I echo what capnjuan says about Guild making the best 12 strings, even GADs Grot.

If it sounds and plays well to you, that's the most important step in become a guitar that will be played.

There are several 212 owners here and I hope they will welcome you and chime in on their experience, but one thing we do need is photos, otherwise this thread doesn't exist, and if you can do it, sound clips are always appreciated!!

Again, welcome and jump in, the waters fine, though the gene pool is shallow at times.

Harry,

I have a 1967 Guild F212, probably about 40 years older than the G212 that you own. The guitar you have is a G212, right. I didn't know that Guild was making a GAD version of the G212. I am guessing that you already know that the G212 would be a Dreadnaught; the F212 that I have is part of Guild's Jumbo Body Lineup. Welcome to LTG ! :D
