I just talked talked with Tom Jacobs and his bride. They finished up my 1967 D 40 and it's on it's way to me. They next start a little work on my D 212 and then on to my DV 72 CL and DV 62.

Here's my warning though. Tom completed work on a few Martins and Gibsons and he's getting rave reviews apparently on the Martin and Gibson forums so I suspect his workload will be increasing significantly which will mean longer wait times.

If you have work you're thinking about getting done, you may want to consider moving on that now.

My luthier is so good, but the fact that he has a 9-5 job and just does fretted instrument on the side (it's his passion) means that I don't really tell anyone about him, and he's so busy that it's fine with him. I shared him locally with @mavuser, and that's about it. That being said, he doesn't like doing really big jobs like neck resets and restorations, because he can make a lot more money doing setups and the like. I've used Tom in the past for the big work and have been very happy with the results, but thankfully haven't needed any on any of mine in quite a while.

Guilty as charged! Sorry guys, but I referred a member on UMGF who lives in Florida to Tom. He had a broken headstock on a Gibson, and reported back with an absolutely glowing review. The secret is out!
