HB-1s uncovered

I came across this video while watching one of Pascal's S-100 videos, and the guy is playing a 1972 or early 1973 Guild S-100 DeLuxe with the HB-1 covers off. I base that dating on the metal trussrod cover (properly aligned :wink:), the three-line Chesterfield inlay and what appear to be Grover StaTite tuners.

Hard to say from the small picture if they are HB-1s. As far as I know the non-adjustable polepieces look like rectangular on a HB-1.

You are right, I found the picture meanwhile. I watched the video in 1080p again and it looks like the HB-1 on the picture I added above. (which Hans confirmed to be a bridge position HB-1).

Guild pickups definitely look much more like they're "supposed" to be covered than Gibsons do.

That guy was either here or on TGP. I'll assume not here since no one else seems to remember. Maybe he emailed me because of my blog. Dunno. He swore that they sounded better with the covers off.
